As part of the development of the South Dalmatian "Južna otočna petlja" island transmission loop in the period 1968–1978, a 110 kV oil‑filled submarine cable link between Slatina on Brač and Travna on Hvar (length 4,544 m, 100 MVA rating) was put into service in 1970, providing the high‑voltage transmission interconnection between the islands of Brač and Hvar via the Stari Grad–Nerežišća 110 kV line and associated submarine section.
