Based on windPro simulations and constraint analysis, the 2018 feasibility study concluded that the most optimal location for an offshore wind farm at Bozcaada is on the island’s northern side. This area, characterised by 20–30 m water depths and predominantly farmland onshore, was identified as offering lower capital costs for foundations and fewer social barriers than alternative locations around the island.
