By 16 January 2026, an Environmental Impact Assessment for the national onshore infrastructure associated with the Bowdun Offshore Wind Farm had been submitted by Thistle Wind Partners to Aberdeenshire Council under the Town and Country Planning (Environmental Impact Assessment) (Scotland) Regulations 2017. The EIA supports Planning Permission in Principle application APP/2025/1952 for export cable landfall and circuits, onshore substation and associated works between Benholm/Johnshaven and Fetteresso Forest.
