Germany’s Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) reported that transmission system operator TenneT would commence laying the BorWin5 submarine HVDC export cable in June 2024. The cable, operating at ±320 kV, will run approximately 120 kilometres from the offshore converter platform BorWin epsilon via Norderney to the mainland landfall at Hilgenriedersiel, forming part of the grid connection that will link the 960 MW He Dreiht offshore wind farm to the German grid.
