OMM’s role was to install and bury two approximately 1.1 km, 208 mm OD HVAC cables between the principal offshore platforms (BARD Offshore 1 and BorWin alpha) for the BorWin1 project, including route inspections, J-tube pull-ins, laying, monitoring and post-lay burial survey.
Offshore Marine Management was contracted by German grid operator transpower stromübertragungs gmbh for the installation of the two infield HVAC cables connecting the BARD Offshore 1 platform to the BorWin alpha offshore converter platform within the BorWin1 project. OMM managed the complete subsea cable work scope, including J-tube inspections, visual route and platform inspections, pre-lay grapnel runs, topside preparatory works, J-tube pull-ins, laying and monitoring of the two approximately 1.1 km HVAC cables between the platforms, and post-lay burial of the cables. The company also undertook post-burial surveys, second-pass burial if required, and final reporting and GIS deliverables. Operations were executed using DP2 support vessels with OMM survey and cable teams, with Hallin Marine and Modus providing specialised vessels and equipment as subcontractors.
