As part of the Bard Offshore 1 development, the BorWin1 transmission system was constructed, including the build and installation of the Borwin I (Alpha) offshore converter platform and the installation of two 125 km subsea cables and two 75 km onshore underground cables transmitting power to the 380 kV Diele substation. ABB carried out the system engineering along with the design, supply and installation of the offshore converter station, the sea and land cable systems, and the onshore converter station for this HVDC Light connection operated by TenneT.
