DELAYED +-1mo (Apr 2026): 50Hertz’s BEI project page (updated Jan 2026) lists planned commissioning in 2034 for the Bornholm–Germany 2 GW link, and EnergyWatch (3 Feb 2026) likewise says Energy Island Bornholm is expected to be ready in 2034. Our earlier 2035 COD reflected a generic "mid‑2030s" target. With FID now delayed and installation shifted into the early 2030s, aligning full‑power COD to 2034 year‑end is more consistent with the latest official schedule. --- Completion of the Bornholm Energy Island HVDC converter stations and cable system, including the 1.2 GW 525 kV HVDC connection from Bornholm to Zealand, is targeted for the mid‑2030s. At that point the Energiø Bornholm–Zealand interconnector is planned to enter full commercial operation, transmitting offshore wind power collected on Bornholm into the Danish 400 kV grid at Zealand as part of the wider 3 GW Denmark–Germany multi-terminal HVDC system.
