By 1 December 2021, Ørsted had secured long‑term corporate power purchase agreements for a total of 786 MW of Borkum Riffgrund 3’s output, signing CPPAs with Amazon (350 MW), BASF (186 MW), Covestro (100 MW), REWE Group/Energie‑Handels‑Gesellschaft (100 MW) and Google (50 MW). These 10‑ to 25‑year offtake contracts provide long‑term price certainty and underpin the merchant revenue model for the zero‑subsidy project.
