On 1 December 2021, Ørsted’s board of directors took final investment decision on the 900 MW Borkum Riffgrund 3 offshore wind farm, alongside the 242 MW Gode Wind 3 project. The FID, supported by large‑scale CPPAs and the planned 50% farm‑down to Glennmont Partners, enabled Ørsted to proceed with procurement and construction of Borkum Riffgrund 3 as part of a combined gigawatt‑scale build‑out in the German North Sea.
