Global Infrastructure Partners III (GIP III), a fund managed by Global Infrastructure Partners, entered into an agreement with DONG Energy to acquire a 50% equity stake in the 450 MW Borkum Riffgrund 2 offshore wind farm in the German North Sea for a total consideration of approximately EUR 1,170 million, establishing a 50/50 partnership under which DONG Energy would continue to construct, operate and maintain the project and provide a route to market for its power output. The transaction was subject to competition authority approval and was expected to complete before the end of 2017.
