Foundation installation at the Borkum Riffgrund 2 offshore wind farm began in March 2018, when Jan De Nul’s jack-up vessel Vole au vent installed the first monopile and transition piece at the site about 40km northwest of the island of Borkum, marking the start of the campaign to install 36 monopile foundations for Ørsted’s project.
