The foundation installation campaign at Borkum Riffgrund 1 began on 21 January 2014, when the first monopile foundation was installed around 37 km north of the island of Borkum using the installation vessel Pacific Orca, which transported and drove the first four monopiles and transition pieces into place in about 30 m water depth.
