E.ON UK Renewables announced that the two-turbine Blyth Offshore Wind Farm, the UK’s first offshore wind project installed in 2000 off Blyth, Northumberland, would be decommissioned, with dismantling works to remove the turbines scheduled to start in April 2019 and expected to take around four to eight weeks, including preparing one turbine for reuse as a training facility at the Port of Blyth.
