EDF Energy Renewables acquired the seabed rights for the Blyth Offshore Demonstrator site from The Crown Estate and purchased related land rights and meteorological data from the Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult, securing control of the consented offshore test and demonstration area near the port of Blyth for a project of around 15 turbines with completion then targeted for 2016–2017.
