By 31 July 2017, the first gravity-based foundation for the Blyth Offshore Demonstrator Project had been installed onto the seabed at the offshore site approximately 5.7 km off Blyth, Northumberland, with a second of the five GBFs already on site and ready for installation, initiating the project’s offshore foundation installation campaign using the float-and-submerge method.
