On 24 December 2025 Berwick Bank Wind Farm Limited submitted an application to East Lothian Council for Approval of Matters Specified in Conditions (reference 25/01386/AMM), discharging Condition 2 of the December 2023 Planning Permission in Principle (reference 23/00162/PPM). The application provides detailed information on the temporary and permanent works required to install 275 kV underground export cables across Development Zones 1-3 and 4a between the Skateraw landfall and the planned onshore substation/converter station at Branxton in East Lothian. The 275 kV cable works are one of three major onshore transmission infrastructure components required to deliver power from the offshore Berwick Bank array to the National Grid via the SP Energy Networks 400 kV substation at Branxton. East Lothian Council subsequently opened a public consultation on the AMM application on 5 January 2026 (closing 30 January 2026), and the council's planning committee unanimously approved the application on 7 April 2026.
