"turnkey repair of one of the 220 kV high-voltage AC subsea export cables connecting the Beatrice Offshore Windfarm in the Scottish Moray Firth... Cable route length Approx. 70 km"
NKT provided turnkey subsea export cable repair services for the Beatrice offshore transmission system after an unplanned outage in April 2025 on one of the two 220 kV HVAC export cables owned by Transmission Capital Partners. Working for the Beatrice OFTO, NKT led a coordinated response with Transmission Capital Partners and SSE Renewables to restore full export capacity. The scope included engineering and execution of an offshore fault repair on the approximately 70 km subsea export cable, using NKT’s Adaptive Rigid Sea Joint (ARSJ) technology and its modular cable-handling system deployed on the vessel North Sea Giant. NKT mobilised joints from stock, handled and jointed the customer’s spare cable, and completed the offshore works and re-energisation within 38 days, returning the Beatrice export system to full operation.
