"completed the laying and burial of the first 70-kilometer 220kV export cable which will connect the 588MW Beatrice offshore wind farm to the Scottish grid. Nexans started installing the first of two export cables for the Beatrice offshore wind farm"
Nexans acted as the export cable contractor for the Beatrice offshore transmission assets during construction. Under a contract for cable works on the Beatrice Offshore Wind Farm, Nexans’ cable laying vessel Nexans Skagerrak laid and buried the first of two 70-kilometre 220 kV subsea export cables that connect the 588 MW wind farm in the Outer Moray Firth to the Scottish grid. The scope covered offshore route preparation, laying and burial of the export cables from the wind farm towards landfall near Portgordon. In line with the project configuration of two parallel HVAC export circuits of around 70 km each, Nexans installed approximately 140 km of subsea export cable for the Beatrice OFTO system.
