The Beatrice 400/220 kV onshore substation at Blackhillock, forming part of the Beatrice OFTO transmission system, was fully energised and operational, including two 400 kV circuits linking the onshore substation to SSEN’s adjacent Blackhillock transmission substation. By the time of Ofgem’s Tender Round 6 documentation, the OFTO assets, including this onshore substation, were operational and exporting power from the wind farm, demonstrating the readiness and commissioning of the onshore grid connection into the National Electricity Transmission System.
