On 24 May 2016, Beatrice Offshore Windfarm Ltd selected a consortium led by Nexans to supply the 220 kV export cable system connecting the Beatrice Offshore Wind Farm to the Scottish grid, including two complete 220 kV subsea and land cable circuits totalling around 260 km. The turnkey contract, valued at approximately €245 million, covers design, manufacture and delivery of the offshore and onshore export cables that later formed the Beatrice OFTO transmission assets between the wind farm and the Blackhillock onshore substation.
