Bay of Biscay (Biscay Gulf) HVDC interconnection: two 1,000 MW links, four 400 kV symmetric monopole cables over an approximately 400 km route (about 300 km submarine and the remainder underground).
Next Geosolutions secured a contract from Prysmian to support the Bay of Biscay HVDC interconnection project between Spain and France. For this project, NextGeo will perform offshore route preparation works along the interconnector cable corridor between 2025 and 2027. The scope includes boulder removal, pre‑lay grapnel runs, installation of protective mattresses, and a pre‑lay survey ahead of cable installation. These activities prepare the seabed and protect the HVDC submarine cables that Prysmian will install as part of its EPCI scope for Cable Link 2 of the Biscay Gulf project.
