Cables were supplied by Prysmian (33 kV) and Nexans (132 kV).
Nexans supplied the 132 kV HVAC export cable system for the Barrow Offshore Wind Farm, which later formed the core offshore transmission asset transferred to TC Barrow OFTO Ltd under the UK OFTO regime. The scope covered manufacture and delivery of the single-circuit 132 kV submarine export cable linking the offshore substation to landfall near Heysham and onward connection into the 132 kV onshore network. Approximately 27 km of subsea export cable was produced and supplied during the main construction phase in 2005–2006, working alongside the wind farm EPC consortium and substation suppliers to enable export of the project’s 90 MW output to shore.
