The German Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) granted Bard Engineering GmbH consent to construct the Bard Offshore 1 wind farm in the North Sea, authorising 80 wind turbines of up to 5MW each over roughly 60km² about 89km northwest of Borkum, and, for the first time, also approving an offshore residential platform with offices and accommodation to be built together with the substation within the wind farm area.
