An academic study on Turkey’s offshore wind energy potential assessed wind resources at 55 coastal regions, including the Bandırma coastline, using tools such as the Wind Atlas Analysis and Application Program (WAsP). The analysis concluded that Bandırma is among the most suitable locations for offshore wind farm development and estimated total offshore wind power potential at the specified Turkish sites at 1,629 MW.
