Seatrium, as part of the GE Vernova–Seatrium consortium, was awarded a contract by TenneT for the BalWin5 2.2 GW HVDC grid connection in the German North Sea. Seatrium was responsible for the offshore converter platform, including design and construction, and it was to manage transportation and installation in the German North Sea. Works were scheduled to commence on 1 January 2026, with most platform fabrication planned at Seatrium’s yards in Singapore and Batam. Commissioning for BalWin5 was planned for 2032.
