Fugro conducted a marine site characterisation campaign for the Baltic Eagle offshore wind farm under a contract valued at more than €10 million. Fugro’s scope included an unexploded ordnance (UXO) survey to clear investigation locations, followed by a geotechnical seabed investigation including borehole drilling, as well as geophysical and geological data acquisition and a programme of laboratory testing. Fieldwork was performed using Fugro vessels including the geophysical vessel Fugro Pioneer and the geotechnical drilling vessel Fugro Scout, with the data intended to inform the foundation design for the wind turbines and offshore substation.
