Alstom was contracted on a turnkey basis to deliver the AC offshore substation for the EnBW Baltic 2 project, including technical development, design and supply of electrical components, platform construction, transport, and offshore installation. The substation collects power from the wind farm’s 80 turbines and transmits it via a 150 kV submarine cable to the onshore grid connection point in Bentwisch near Rostock, forming the core of the Baltic 2 grid connection infrastructure.
