The European Investment Bank signed a EUR 70 million loan contract, representing the second tranche of a EUR 140 million loan to support IPTO’s power transmission investment programme for 2012–2017, which includes the interconnection of Nea Makri (Attica mainland) to Polypotamos (island of Evia). This debt financing contributes to improving electricity transmission, integrating new generation resources, and reinforcing the network that includes the Attica–Evia interconnection scheme.
