Independent Power Transmission Operator ADMIE scheduled the start of submarine cable installation for the Nea Makri–Polipotamos (Attica–Evia 2) interconnection on Thursday, 14 March, using the Norwegian cable-laying vessel C/S NEXANS SKAGERRAK to lay the power cables across the seabed between Evia and Nea Makri. The laying operation was planned to begin on that date and be completed within one week as part of the wider interconnection project whose total cost exceeds €80 million.
