For the Nea Makri–Polipotamos interconnection (Attica–Evia 2), ADMIE completed installation of the submarine power cables between Evia and Nea Makri and the associated underground cables from the landfall point to the Nea Makri substation. Cable laying in the sea area was carried out by the Norwegian vessel C/S NEXANS SKAGERRAK starting on 14 March and was expected to be finished within a week, and later reports confirm that both the submarine and onshore cable sections had been fully laid, allowing the project to proceed to testing and energisation of the link.
