JD-Contractor A/S’s news archive records an item titled "New supply cable for Anholt Island" dated 1 November 2014, indicating that a new electricity supply cable for Anholt Island had been delivered and associated installation works completed by that time.
In summer 2014, JD-Contractor A/S began installing a new supply cable from the substation on the Anholt Offshore Wind Farm to Anholt Island under contract from Danish TSO Energinet.dk, with the scope including pre-trenching, rock removal, PLGR, survey, cable transport, pull-in/pull-up, cable laying and post-burial by jetting.
In 2014, JD-Contractor completed installation of a new supply cable from the Anholt Offshore Wind Farm substation to Anholt Island for Energinet.dk, after a short planning and construction period. Following this connection, the island’s electricity supply was shifted from local generators to mainland supply and Anholt Island was reported to be almost 100% supplied by renewable energy via the new 33 kV link to the wind power plant transformers.
For the new electricity supply connection from the Anholt Offshore Wind Farm substation to Anholt Island, the Danish TSO Energinet.dk used a power cable manufactured and supplied by Prysmian. The project, implemented to shift the small island in the Kattegat from diesel generation to predominantly renewable power, involved JD-Contractor installing the Prysmian 3x150, 37 kV cable between the offshore substation and Anholt Island.
