According to DEDDIE’s network development appendices, the Andros–Tinos 20 kV submarine interconnection consists of two 3×150 mm² aluminium cables, spanning a 3.3 km sea distance with a total installed cable length of 6.6 km, and has a recorded year of laying of 1974, indicating completion of the cable installation in that year.
By the time of the 2014 European Commission state aid decision, the Andros–Tinos 20 kV interconnector was already in regular operation, with the 150/20 kV substation on Andros feeding Tinos Island at the medium-voltage 20 kV level, indicating that the local distribution link between the two islands was fully commissioned and in commercial service.
