On 28 July 2017, Heerema Fabrication Group was awarded a procurement and construction contract by Siemens for the Albatros Offshore Transformer Module (OTM) topside, a roughly 1,000‑tonne offshore transformer platform to be built at Heerema’s Zwijndrecht yard starting in Q1 2018 and scheduled for sail‑away in Q1 2019 as a key component of the wind farm’s grid connection.
