In 2012, Public Power Corporation (PPC) brought into operation a new submarine cable interconnection between Aegina (Aigina) and Methana, a 9.8 km link listed alongside the Thassos–Keramoti cable as one of the major distribution projects accounting for €10 million of that year’s investments, indicating that the Aegina–Methana medium-voltage interconnector had entered full operational service by that time.
