The foundation installation campaign at the Aberdeen Bay (European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre) project began in March 2018 when Boskalis installed the first Smulders-fabricated suction bucket jacket foundation. The maiden jacket, lifted into place by the crane vessel Asian Hercules 3 from the construction port of Peterhead, was installed in about 15 hours, marking the first commercial-scale deployment of this foundation type at the site off Aberdeen.
