On 13 September 2022, 7 Seas Med S.r.l. published a public notice as part of the VIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) procedure stating that the 7SeasMed floating offshore wind farm in the Strait of Sicily is among the projects included in Italy’s Integrated National Energy and Climate Plan (PNIEC), under the category of new renewable electricity generation plants. The notice, filed with the Ministry of Ecological Transition, classifies the project within the PNIEC framework in line with Annex I-bis, point 1.2.1 of Legislative Decree 152/2006.
