On 6 April 2022, GreenIT (the renewable energy joint venture between Plenitude and CDP Equity) and CI IV, a fund managed by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, signed an agreement to jointly develop, construct, and operate two floating offshore wind farms in Sicily and Sardinia, including the 7SeasMed project off Marsala consisting of 21 turbines of about 12 MW each for a total capacity of around 250 MW. Italian companies Lilybeo Wind Power, Nice Technology, and 7 Seas Wind Power joined as minority partners, establishing the multi-party joint venture structure that now owns and develops 7SeasMed within a broader Italian floating wind portfolio.
