On 5 March 2025, Divento (the GreenIT/CIP/7 Seas Wind Power/NiceTechnology partnership) and Saipem signed a collaboration agreement under which Saipem’s proprietary STAR 1 semi-submersible floating foundation technology will be applied to the 7 Seas Med floating wind project in Sicily and the Ichnusa project in Sardinia. Saipem was selected for this role following a competitive technical‑economic feasibility procedure, with the agreement aimed at supporting these projects through all phases of development, including participation in Italy’s first Fer2 auctions for innovative renewables.
