Walid (or Salid) Elias Establishment refers to the family-led industrial business headed by Mr. Walid H. Elias, who serves as CEO and member of the board within the Elias group of companies. The group traces its origins to Elias Brothers Co., founded by Mr. Hanna I. Elias as a trading company selling and servicing gearmotors and welding machines. Elias Brothers Co. built its early reputation as an importer of electrical and mechanical parts and was awarded a Golden Medal by the Ministry of Foreign Trade in the USSR for competitive importing performance. Over time, the business expanded its warehousing and headquarters capacity to support growing international trade.
Under the second generation led by Walid H. Elias, the establishment shifted from pure trading into heavy industries and large-scale engineered products and services. It set up international offices and a warehouse in Jebel Ali Free Zone in Dubai to broaden business opportunities and relationships, and upgraded its first variable speed gearmotor product line, supplying more than 10,000 units to clients such as grain silos, flour mills and bakeries. The group subsequently delivered four 2,000 HP onshore oil drilling rigs and established WDRVM for Renewable Energies and Heavy Industries as a wind turbine manufacturing facility described as the only such plant in the MENA region.
The industrial footprint, based in the Industrial City of Hessia near Homs, Syria, has been expanded from 11,000 m² to 45,000 m² through in‑house design and fabrication. The group offers products in wind energy, oil and gas and Nord Drivesystems, and provides heavy lift and transport, quality control and assurance, consultation and engineering, and parts and repair services. It has also invested in a 650‑ton crawler crane to strengthen its transportation and heavy lifting fleet and has erected a 2.5 MW WD2.5‑103 wind turbine, presented as the first and only Arab‑made turbine of that rating in MENA. Strategically, the family positions the establishment as a major regional provider of renewable energies and heavy industries, aiming to serve both local and international markets.
