VänerEnergi AB is a municipally owned energy utility based in Mariestad, Sweden, established in 1989 and ultimately owned via Mariestads Stadshus AB. The company and its subsidiaries are owned by the municipalities of Mariestad and Töreboda and operate across electricity networks, electricity retailing, city fibre networks and district heating. Its registered business purpose is to purchase, produce and distribute energy, and to provide data and telecommunication services via its own communications network, with a mandate to support reliable, low‑cost energy supply in Mariestad and Töreboda and to foster competition in telecoms and data communications in Mariestad and neighbouring municipalities. VänerEnergi reported turnover of 282,112 KSEK in 2024.
