United Power Generation & Distribution Company Limited (UPGDCL), referred to by partners as United Power, operates as a power generation and distribution company in Bangladesh. Incorporated on 15 January 2007 and headquartered at “United House”, United City, Madani Avenue, Dhaka‑1212, the company is listed on both the Dhaka Stock Exchange and the Chittagong Stock Exchange. Within the national power system it acts as an independent producer and supplier of electricity, managing over 2,137 MW of installed capacity in Bangladesh, of which 1,066 MW is powered by Wärtsilä engine technology. United Power’s stated strategic objectives focus on expanding electricity generation capacity in Bangladesh in a safe, economical and rapid manner, aligned with the Government of Bangladesh’s Vision 2021 and the growth in national electricity demand.
