Taihan Cable & Solution is a South Korean manufacturer and engineering supplier of electric wires, cables and base metal products serving power, communications and industrial infrastructure markets. Founded in 1941 as Korea’s first electric wire company, it is now part of Hoban Group and headquartered in Anyang-si and Seoul. The company produces transmission, distribution and industrial power cables, busducts and heating systems; renewable‑energy cables including submarine and solar power cables; and a wide range of communication and optical cables such as LAN, coaxial, railway, CATV, UL‑style and indoor and outdoor fiber, as well as OPGW and related accessories. It also manufactures base metal products including copper rods, copper and magnet wires. Taihan provides “total solutions” across the power supply value chain, from power system design through supply, connection, construction and maintenance of cables and accessories, addressing applications in power grids, plants, mobility, buildings, telecommunications, vessels and ports, and information and communications technology.
Taihan operates major cable, solution and submarine cable plants in Dangjin, Chungcheongnam‑do, alongside offices in Seoul and Anyang, and has an extensive global network of sales offices and production subsidiaries across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Oceania and Africa, including Taihan Vina in Vietnam and M‑TEC in South Africa. Strategic priorities center on extra‑high‑voltage and HVDC land and submarine cables, offshore wind inter‑array and export cables, and turnkey submarine projects. Investments include a dedicated submarine cable plant in Dangjin, a second HVDC‑focused submarine cable plant under construction, an HVDC test center, and the acquisition of the cable‑laying vessel PALOS and offshore installer OceanC&I, enabling integrated manufacture, transport, installation and maintenance. In 2024 the group reported consolidated revenue of approximately KRW 3.29 trillion.
