Sval Energi AS is a Norwegian oil and gas company focused on upstream exploration and production and midstream gas infrastructure on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. Established originally as Solveig Gas Norway AS to build a broad energy asset base, it holds interests in the offshore gas transmission system Gassled and the Polarled pipeline, and has developed into one of Norway’s larger non‑operated producers with shares in 16 producing oil and gas fields alongside fields under exploration or planned development. The company’s portfolio, split roughly equally between liquids and gas, is highly cash generative, with low unit production costs and limited near‑term investment requirements.
Based in Stavanger, Sval Energi provides maintenance, development and improvement of energy infrastructure and owns and invests in the transportation of petroleum and gas. Its largest upstream assets by reserves include Nova, Martin Linge, Kvitebjørn, Eldfisk, Maria, Symra and Ekofisk, complemented by growth projects such as Maria Revitalization, Symra and Dvalin North and discoveries including Cerisa, Ringhorne North and Beta, as well as redevelopment opportunities at Albuskjell and West Ekofisk. Beyond hydrocarbons, Sval Energi has moved into renewables and low‑carbon solutions: together with Lundin Energy it acquired the 132 MW Metsälamminkangas onshore wind farm in Finland, and it is operator of the Trudvang carbon capture and storage project and holds additional CO₂ storage licences.
Sval Energi has pursued an active growth strategy on the Norwegian Continental Shelf under private equity ownership by HitecVision and participates in the UN Global Compact as an active corporate participant. In 2025 DNO ASA agreed to acquire 100 percent of Sval Energi Group AS, integrating Sval Energi’s portfolio and workforce into its expanded North Sea business.
