Siemens Energy AG is a publicly traded energy technology company headquartered in Munich, Germany. Formed in 2020 through the spin‑off of Siemens AG’s former Gas and Power division, it includes the fully owned wind power subsidiary Siemens Gamesa. The group is organized into four business areas: Gas Services, Grid Technologies, Transformation of Industry, and Wind Power (Siemens Gamesa). Across these units, Siemens Energy positions itself as one of the world’s leading energy technology providers, working with customers and partners on future energy systems and the global energy transition.
The company’s portfolio spans almost the entire energy value chain from power and heat generation to transmission and storage. It develops and supplies gas and steam turbines, generators, hybrid power plants operated with hydrogen, transformers, high‑voltage substations, HVDC systems, offshore grid connections, gas‑insulated switchgear, grid automation and digital grid solutions. Through Siemens Gamesa it provides onshore and offshore wind turbines and associated installation, operation and maintenance services. Siemens Energy also delivers electrolyzers, industrial turbines and compressors, drive systems, energy storage and a wide range of service, modernization, consulting and digital offerings. Its customers include utilities, independent power producers, project developers, municipal energy producers, EPC contractors, transmission and distribution system operators, and industrial and infrastructure operators in sectors such as oil and gas, metals and mining, data centers and process industries.
Siemens Energy operates in more than 90 countries and reported revenue of €34.5 billion in fiscal 2024 and €39.1 billion in 2025, with around 102,000–103,000 employees worldwide. An estimated one‑sixth of global electricity generation is based on its technologies. Recent strategic investments include €220 million to expand transformer manufacturing in Nuremberg, Germany; over €100 million for a new offshore wind transformer plant in Austria and a joint‑venture transformer tank factory in Croatia; and a US$1 billion program to scale up grid and gas‑turbine manufacturing in the United States, adding more than 1,500 skilled jobs. These expansions are aimed at strengthening grid infrastructure, supporting offshore wind and enabling higher renewable integration and electrification globally.
