About
Repsol Norge AS is the wholly owned Norwegian exploration and production subsidiary of Repsol S.A., focused on upstream oil and gas activities on the Norwegian continental shelf. The company forms part of Repsol’s global multi‑energy business and operates in the oil and gas sector in Norway with headquarters at Verven 4 in Stavanger. Repsol has been present on the Norwegian shelf since 2003, and Repsol Norge AS, incorporated in 2009 as a Norwegian aksjeselskap, concentrates its activities in the North Sea. Vidar Nedrebø serves as Managing Director for Repsol S.A.’s upstream activities in Norway.
Repsol Norge AS produces about 20,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day from fields on the Norwegian shelf and is operator of the Blane, Gyda, Rev and Yme fields. Yme is a brownfield redevelopment in the Egersund Basin, around 130 km from the Norwegian coast, combining reuse of existing infrastructure with new facilities and achieving first oil in October 2021 as one of Repsol’s key upstream projects under its 2021–2025 Strategic Plan. The company has operated Gyda from development through to decommissioning, completing permanent plugging of 32 wells and removal of topsides and jacket, and it continues to manage decommissioning and cessation planning for fields such as Blane and Rev. In addition to its operated portfolio, Repsol Norge AS holds non‑operated interests in several fields and associated production facilities and pipelines, including Gudrun, Veslefrikk, Visund and Mikkel.
In Norway, Repsol Norge AS applies Repsol’s global safety and environmental policies and pursues a structured sustainability program. The Norway Sustainability Plan for 2025 includes multiple actions with defined compliance indicators, and the company undertakes community investment initiatives and partnerships in areas such as education, culture, charity and sports to support local communities where it operates.
