Quoceant is a Scotland-based engineering consultancy focused on offshore renewable energy and technology innovation. The company provides independent design and consultancy support across fixed and floating offshore wind, wave and tidal energy, and green heat storage. Its services span feasibility studies, front-end engineering design, detailed mechanical and structural design, analysis and simulation, specialist technical services, offshore operations planning, and energy market and policy review. Quoceant also undertakes independent third‑party review and due diligence, offering risk‑based assessments of technologies, foundations, moorings and offshore operations for project developers, insurers and other stakeholders.
Quoceant works with project developers, OEMs and engineering companies worldwide. In offshore wind, it has supported Ocean Winds on Moray East, Moray West and the 390 MW BC‑Wind project in Poland, delivering foundation and substructure reviews, detailed structural models, fatigue and non‑linear finite element analysis, and the design of temporary works such as transition piece covers and monopile test towers. In marine energy, Quoceant has contributed to projects for Orbital Marine Power, AWS Ocean Energy, Andritz Hydro Hammerfest’s MeyGen project, Marine Power Systems, Carnegie Clean Energy, Minesto, EMEC and others, covering concept development, power‑take‑off systems, mooring and connection systems, cable management, and operational planning. The team applies tools such as OrcaFlex, Abaqus, SolidWorks and MATLAB Simulink, supported by in‑house prototyping and access to workshop and machine‑shop facilities.
Alongside consultancy, Quoceant develops its own technologies, notably the Q‑Connect family of marine quick connection systems for rapid, repeatable mechanical and electrical connection and disconnection of moorings and cables. Q‑Connect has been developed with funding from Wave Energy Scotland and the Offshore Wind Growth Partnership and is being adapted for floating wind, vessel charging, aquaculture, marine energy and offshore oil and gas applications. Quoceant participates in collaborative programmes such as EuropeWave and Horizon Europe projects and states a commitment to fair work as an ISO 9001‑certified and Real Living Wage employer.
