OST Energy is a UK‑headquartered renewable energy technical consultancy focused on wind and solar power projects. Founded in 2008 and based in Brighton, it provides independent engineering and advisory services across six continents, with main offices in Ann Arbor, Cape Town, Milan, New Delhi and Sydney. In 2015 the company opened a Paris office to leverage existing work in France and benefit from the country’s supportive policy framework and stable wind and solar market. The firm delivers services including technical due diligence, feasibility studies and asset management for projects ranging in size from 250 kW installations to utility‑scale schemes at the gigawatt level. Its client base includes institutional investors and lenders such as Aviva Investors, NORD/LB and Santander, as well as other finance community participants linked to its solar experience. This positions OST Energy as a specialist advisor at the interface between renewable project development and project finance, helping counterparties assess risk, optimise design and support long‑term asset performance. OST Energy was acquired by engineering consultancy Edif ERA, part of the Edif Group, in 2015. At the time of the transaction, OST employed around 130 staff, while the wider Edif Group employed more than 1,000 people worldwide. The combination broadened OST’s capabilities with Edif’s electrical engineering expertise, strengthened the group’s renewables offering and supported further international expansion. Management has highlighted opportunities to grow in north and west Africa through French‑speaking teams and to expand into the offshore wind sector by drawing on Edif’s experience on the electrical side of offshore projects.
