Metlen Energy & Metals (previously MYTILINEOS Energy & Metals) is a global industrial and energy company operating two highly interconnected business sectors: Energy and Metals. Founded in Greece in 1990 as an evolution of a metallurgical family business dating back to 1908, it has grown into a multinational group with activities on all five continents and operations in around 40 countries. The company is listed on the Athens Stock Exchange and, following its 2024 rebranding to Metlen, reported consolidated turnover of about €5.68 billion and EBITDA of around €1.08 billion, employing thousands of people directly and indirectly.
In the Energy Sector, Metlen acts as an integrated utility across the full value chain, from development, construction and operation of thermal power plants and renewable energy projects to electricity and natural gas supply, energy trading and complex infrastructure. Its structure includes M Renewables, M Energy Generation & Management, M Energy Customer Solutions (Protergia), M Integrated Supply & Trading and M Power Projects. The group develops and delivers large-scale solar, wind and battery storage projects worldwide, with a renewable portfolio of roughly 11 GW at various stages of maturity and a growing base of utility-scale assets and EPC contracts in Europe, the Americas, Asia and Australia.
In the Metals Sector, Metlen is a benchmark for competitive “green” metallurgy, operating the only fully vertically integrated bauxite, alumina and primary aluminium production complex in the European Union, supported by privately owned port facilities and secondary aluminium capacity. It combines this industrial base with investments in circular metallurgy, critical materials such as gallium, and defence-related manufacturing, under a strategy focused on sustainability, emissions reduction and the circular economy.
