M Vest Energy AS is a limited liability energy company based in Bergen, Norway, focused on exploration, development and production of oil and gas on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. Founded in 2015, it acquired the assets and staff of Atlantic Petroleum Norway AS in 2016 and was qualified as a license holder on the Norwegian Continental Shelf later that year, receiving its first license in the APA 2016 round. The company subsequently expanded its portfolio through Awards in Predefined Areas, including four new production licences in APA 2018, and has since built a position as a non-operating partner in several producing fields and infrastructure assets. As of 2022–2024 it holds working interests in the Draugen, Brage and Ivar Aasen fields, operated by OKEA and Aker BP, as well as a 5% stake in the Polarled gas pipeline and other infrastructure exporting oil and gas. In Q3 2025, income was largely driven by revenues from Draugen (7.56%), Brage (4.4424%), Ivar Aasen (0.8%) and Polarled (5%).
M Vest Energy employs around 15 people with long experience from the oil and gas industry and concentrates its activities exclusively on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. The company’s strategy is to optimise and further develop its existing portfolio within available regulatory and commercial frameworks, while pursuing new production and infrastructure opportunities arising from structural changes in the sector. It aims to be at the forefront of technological development, with particular emphasis on digital solutions, and has taken steps toward operatorship, including membership in the Organization of Operators Association for Emergency Planning (OFFB). The company states that it seeks to minimise its climate and environmental footprint, with ESG considerations central to daily operations, and publishes due diligence and payments-to-governments reporting in line with Norwegian transparency and extractive-industry regulations. Social responsibility priorities include job creation, innovation and contributing to sustainable economic growth and public debate on climate change.
