Langelands Elforsyning A/S is the electricity retail company within the locally owned Langeland energy utilities on the Danish island of Langeland. It operates as a primary subsidiary of the consumer‑governed foundation Fonden Langelands Elforsyning, whose overall purpose is to contribute to the sourcing and distribution of energy to consumers and to related activities connected with electricity supply. Within this structure, LEF NET A/S owns and operates the electricity distribution network, while Langelands Elforsyning A/S sells electricity to customers inside the group’s own supply area. The foundation continues to manage allocation of fund resources and local sponsorships, supporting associations and community initiatives on the island.
Langelands Elforsyning A/S is part of a broader strategic collaboration branded Langeland Energi & Forsyning, which brings together the electricity activities of Fonden Langelands Elforsyning with Langeland Forsyning’s water, wastewater and waste companies, as well as street lighting, the grid company VEKSEL and the contractor Rituel. The partners are in the process of consolidating service functions in a common service company to optimise operations, IT systems, administration and asset management while preserving separate governance structures in each utility group. The multiforsyning model is designed to maintain around 80 local jobs across the combined supply activities, secure a 24/7 local emergency response, and generate estimated annual synergies of about DKK 3 million for the benefit of customers. A key strategic focus is to support the green transition by enabling locally anchored projects and sector coupling between electricity, wind, water, wastewater, waste and recycling under the shared motto “For Øens Bedste” (“For the good of the island”).
